Tyler Linnebur

Arapahoe County Commissioner - District 1

Fiscal Smarts, Real Results: A Fresh Perspective for a Brighter Future

Who is Tyler Linnebur?

I grew up in Littleton, where my family instilled in me the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion. Actively involved in community service, I participated in church activities, Boy Scouts, and various volunteer projects. After attending the University of Denver, I lived in West Centennial, where I continued my commitment to community service, including roles with the American Conservation Coalition and ConservAmerica. My career as an auditor and accountant, coupled with earning my CPA license, has given me a deep commitment to financial accuracy and integrity. As your County Commissioner, I will prioritize transparency, responsible governance, and empowering local organizations to address issues like homelessness and substance abuse. My goal is to foster a strong, healthy community with a balanced and sustainable future.

Issues

Stewardship

I am committed to stewarding Arapahoe County's future with a focus on fiscal responsibility. My CPA background ensures sound financial decisions, allowing residents to keep their TABOR refunds and have a voice in tax increases. Amidst high inflation and rising costs, I will use my financial expertise to improve economic policies, fostering development and better wages. I am devoted to preserving open spaces and expanding recreational opportunities, promoting responsible land use, and enhancing parks and trails. Together, we can ensure a fiscally responsible and environmentally sustainable future for Arapahoe County.

Wellness

As your Commissioner, I will prioritize the wellbeing of our community by working with Sheriff Brown and our new District Attorney to ensure our law enforcement officers are well-equipped. Addressing homelessness and substance abuse through compassionate, effective strategies is crucial. We'll invest in mental health and anti-substance abuse initiatives to create safer, healthier communities. Using the Springs Rescue Mission model, we'll provide temporary shelters and essential services so individuals can overcome their challenges, gain self-sufficiency, and transition into permanent housing. Collaborating with the Public Health Department and local nonprofits, we'll expand mental health resources, integrate care, and reduce stigma, fostering overall community wellbeing.

Infrastructure

I am committed to addressing the critical backlog of outdated infrastructure and traffic congestion affecting our residents. With an infrastructure deficit over $316 million, we need to rehabilitate 41% of county roads deemed "poor" or "very poor." Previous commissioners have delayed projects, but I will manage resources responsibly to prevent such backlogs. To support our growing population, we'll improve roadways, expand mass transit, and adopt effective land use codes. Additionally, I will advocate for a robust water plan, reducing reliance on the Denver Basin Aquifers and enhancing water efficiency. Finally, I will promote a balanced energy future, leveraging wind, solar, and responsibly utilizing oil and gas reserves.
