Rising Homelessness Amid Increased Spending. County still wants more. Vote Tyler Linnebur for better fiscal management!
From 2018 to 2023, homelessness increased by 452 people, despite a $63M rise in Health & Welfare spending, including $26M from the federal ARPA grant for homelessness and housing initiatives. According to the 2023 audited financial statements, the county has significantly boosted spending on Health & Welfare, while critical infrastructure, like highways and streets, faces a growing backlog exceeding $300M as of 2024.
Arapahoe County needs proactive financial oversight—vote Tyler Linnebur, CPA, to avoid budget shocks before they happen.
This Summer the Board took control of the Sheriff’s Office finances after discovering it went $1 million over budget and amde a $380,000 transfer to a secret foundation. Public safety is the county’s second-largest expense, totaling $140 million in FY23, and you would have though oversight would have already be in place.
